What the numbers on each listing mean

Asking price is what the seller is currently seeking for the business. Revenue is annual gross sales. Cash flow is Seller's Discretionary Earnings (SDE) — the profit left to a single owner-operator after add-backs such as the owner's salary, personal expenses run through the business, depreciation, and interest. SDE is the figure most small-business buyers and SBA lenders underwrite against, and most businesses in this size range trade somewhere between 1.5x and 5x SDE depending on how much of the operation depends on the current owner.

Where a figure reads "Not disclosed," the seller has asked us to release it only to buyers who have signed a non-disclosure agreement. That is normal, and it is not a signal about the quality of the business.

How to inquire on a listing

Businesses are marketed confidentially, so listings are published as blind profiles: enough detail to tell whether the opportunity fits, without naming the company or anything that would identify it to employees, customers, or competitors.

  1. Open the listing and submit the inquiry form with your contact details.
  2. Sign the non-disclosure agreement from the listing page.
  3. We share the full business profile and financials through a secure data room.
  4. If it still fits, we arrange a call or meeting with the seller.

Buyers are typically asked for a personal financial statement and a résumé before a seller meeting. Read our guide to buying a business for what to prepare, including SBA and seller-financing options.

Questions buyers ask about these listings

Do I need to sign an NDA to see the financials?
Yes. Sellers release detailed financials, customer information, and lease terms only under a signed NDA. You can sign it directly from any listing page, and access to the data room usually follows the same day.
Can I buy one of these businesses with an SBA loan?
Most listings in this size range are SBA-eligible. Banks lend against established cash flow far more readily than against a start-up, and we can introduce you to SBA lenders who already finance deals in that industry.
Why isn't the business name or exact address shown?
Confidentiality protects the seller's employees, customers, and suppliers while the business is on the market. Full details follow the NDA.
I don't see what I'm looking for — can you find it?
Often, yes. Not every business we represent is published, and owners approach us before listing. Tell us your acquisition criteria — industry, geography, and transaction size — and we will let you know when something matches.
I own a business — how do I get it listed here?
Start with a confidential valuation. Try the business valuation calculator for an estimate, or talk to us about selling your business.
